Navigating WhatsApp on Android becomes easier.

In April 2023, WhatsApp began testing a bottom-mounted, revised navigation bar for Android. After over a year, the revamp has finally reached the app's stable version.

In a new post on X/Twitter, WhatsApp revealed that WhatsApp for Android would now show the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen rather than at the top for everyone, making it easier to access because it is closer to your thumbs. The company did not end there. It also overhauled the navigation bar.

The previous navigation bar was green in color, with a small tab for Communities and large tabs for Chats, Status, and Calls, but only the Communities tab featured an icon; the other three did not. The new navigation bar is white, with equal-sized tabs for the four parts and icons for each one. These adjustments make the navigation bar appear more symmetrical, sleek, and modern. The update is available globally as version 2.24.6.77. To enjoy the new appearance, simply update the app from the Play Store.
